Printmaking with cyanotypes (aka sun prints) is a photographic printing process invented in the 19th century. It is a non-toxic process that uses the sun as a UV light source. The focus of this workshop will be creating photograms on paper with upcycled objects found at NOVA CRC. A bonus module will look at cyanotype on textiles. We will create cyanotype prints on paper and fabric by using pre-treated surfaces that are coated with a light-sensitive iron salt solution and exposing the print  to sunlight for 5 to 10 minutes. Plan on making two or three prints to take home by the end of the workshop. Please note that this class is dependent on weather. There will be no refunds issued unless BOTH dates are rained out, so please make sure you are able to attend both.
